Our Story
I'm Wade Cozens — mechanical engineer, father of three, and the inventor of The KlipMate. It started on a hot summer's day in the garden when my son turned hat-wearing into a game. Off it came. Back on it went. Off again. Even with a chin strap. It's a frustrating cycle every parent knows.But for me it's more than frustrating — it's personal. My father has had skin cancer removed several times, and New Zealand has some of the highest skin cancer rates in the world, with two thirds of Kiwis expected to be affected in their lifetime. Sun protection isn't optional. It's urgent.The KlipMate is the solution I built for my own family. A simple clip built into the back of the hat, attaching to any part of your child's clothing — a practical training device that keeps hats on heads without the battle. Because sun safety should be effortless for parents, and comfortable for kids.
